Terms of service
These terms govern your use of the Givegood donation platform. By creating a donation, registering an account, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. They also reference our Privacy policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.

1. The service
Givegood lets you set up a single donation — one-off or recurring — and allocate it across one or more UK‑registered charities as a percentage split. We process the payment on your behalf and arrange for each chosen charity to receive its share.
2. Your account
You can configure a donation without registering. To complete a payment, or to manage ongoing donations, you'll need an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for any activity on your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us straight away.
3. Donations and payments
- Donations are generally non-refundable. Once a payment has been taken and distributed to the chosen charities, it cannot typically be reversed. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us promptly and we will do our best to help.
- Recurring donations continue on the schedule you choose until you cancel them from your dashboard. You can change the amount, frequency, or split at any time.
- Failed payments. If a scheduled payment fails (for example, an expired card), we will notify you and may retry. Charities will only receive funds that have cleared.
- Fees. Our pricing is published separately; we will make clear in advance of any payment how it will be split and what, if anything, is retained to cover the cost of running the service.
4. Charities on the platform
Only charities registered with the UK Charity Commission (or equivalent UK regulators) are eligible to receive donations through Givegood. We verify charities before they appear on the platform. You can suggest a new charity during the donation flow, which we will review before adding.
Givegood is not responsible for the work or policies of the charities listed. Donations are made at your discretion, and you should consider each charity on its own merits.
5. Acceptable use
When using Givegood you agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering or fraud;
- impersonate another person or submit information that is false or misleading;
- attempt to interfere with the operation of the platform, or access parts of it you're not authorised to use;
- use the platform to promote or raise funds for organisations that are not UK‑registered charities.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these rules.
6. Liability
We work hard to keep Givegood reliable, but we provide the service “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Givegood is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim arising from these terms is limited to the amount of the donations you processed through the platform in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make changes that materially affect you, we'll let you know by email or with a clear notice on the platform before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that counts as acceptance of the updated terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.
